Mityana district has today launched the construction of Kassanda-Kyamusisi-Muwanga boarder road in Kalangaalo sub county Mityana North constituency Mityana district worth 65 million shillings.
The launching was presided over by the area member of Parliament of Mityana North Hon Nsegumire Kibedi Muhhamed who served as the guest on the function.
In his remarks he thanked residents who re elected him back to the parliament and he promised to serve the people equally with out discrimination in the party.
Hon Kibedi said that the reason why they are construction such roads they want people to use the road for production and also when going to the hospital to pass on good roads and getting markerts. He added that the main pillars he is forcusing on is to see that the constituency has good schools, Health facilities and good roads so that the people who voted him may benefit from the government.
He cautioned the technicals and all leaders to serve the people because this term is not for joking its for serving the people and he said that those who can not serve the people should live the position they are holding.
He went further to caution the engineer who is in charge of the construction of the road to follow the BOQ and also do good work for the residents so that the road can last for a long period of time.
He advised the residents to take a keen eye when they are constructing the road and also tell the engineer the bad areas where they need to put maram so that the road can be done well.
He asked the engineer to give out jobs to the residents that neeed to be done by the residents in the area and those that don’t require residents can bring people out of the community.
District Engineer Brian Mwanje said that they are going to construct 9.8 km and the road is going to move from the boarder of Kassanda then it passes Kyamusisi to Muwanga boarder and the work is going to be done in two weeks.
He added that they are going to put in culverts in the road and they have two different size of culverts that are going to be installed that’s culverts of 600 they are 35 culvert and they are going to put five lines and also going to put culverts of 900 they are 7 culverts and they are going to put one line.
Chairperson Kalangaalo Sub County Lule Matovu thanked the government and area MP for lobbing the money to construct the road.
He asked residents not to interfere with the works that are going to be done by the engineer and also asked residents who are near the road to remove some thing because they are going to expand the road.
He went further to ask resident to accept they put offshoots in their gardens so that they don’t live water in the road.
The launch ended when they have selected a committee that is going to monitor the works that are done and they were tasked to make reports when ever they sit in the meeting and inform the engineer what they want and what has been done.
